Back to Comedy

This summer, the Bamberg University English Drama Group returns to the ETA-Hoffmann Theater in Bamberg with its production of Neil Simon’s hilarious comedy The Sunshine Boys.

For over 40 years, the comedy duo of Willie Clark and Al Lewis were the toast of Broadway with their vaudeville performances, before they finally went their separate ways on the worst possible terms. Now over a decade later, the arch-enemies have been called out of retirement for one last show - a show that, of course, is doomed from the start.

Neil Simon’s comedy is a masterpiece in snappy dialogue and witty repartee in the same vein as his classic The Odd Couple. Following hot on the heels of the success of last year’s The Cripple of Inishmaan, BUEDG’s The Sunshine Boys is a show not to be missed.
